About our Organization Skagit Art Association · Mount Vernon, Washington | ||
|
The Skagit Art Association is a non-profit organization, founded in 1956 to "create, foster, and sustain interest in the arts, to further the understanding and appreciation of art in all its forms, and to sponsor displays, exhibits, and educational programs." Each year, the association awards scholarships to students of local schools. Since 1989, Skagit Art has hosted the popular "Art in a Pickle Barn" fine arts show and sale. This event is held each spring during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon, Washington, to raise scholarship funds. Personal and corporate contributions to our scholarship fund are welcome as well. MEMBERSHIP is open to everyone, from those interested in the arts to the accomplished professional. MEETINGS are held the second Thursday of each month EXCEPT in April, July, August, and December. Speakers or demonstrations in art are often featured and members are reminded by newsletter, which is mailed about one week prior to each meeting. JOIN US! If you wish to be in touch with fellow artists and art lovers, and to share your interests and ideas with them, you are invited to join the Skagit Art Association.
